Aspen, one of Colorado's wonderful year-round resort areas, is situated at the upper end of the Roaring Fork Valley and the Roaring Fork River. Skiing

The Aspen area offers 4 resort mountains, each with its own unique features and required skill sets. With a majority of the mountains focusing on intermediate to advanced skiing, Aspen is the true pinnacle of skiing.

Biking

Challenging terrain and awesome outlooks define the Aspen wilderness areas. Aspen has plenty of mountain biking and road biking trails that range from beginner to advanced, including trails to the popular Maroon Bells.

Hiking

Most of Aspen is wilderness, with hundreds of hiking trails. From lakes to rivers to mountain peaks, trails can take hours or days to complete. Aspen is truly a hiker's paradise!

  • Big Aspen BBQ Block Party

    August 28th - 29th, 2010

    Visit the base of Aspen Mountain from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. and experience some of the country's top pitmasters serving up BBQ while enjoying live music and cooking demos against the Aspen backdrop. Admission is free.

  • The Meeting

    September 23rd - 26th, 2010

    The 6th anniversary of Aspen's premiere sport gathering that includes snowsport athletes, filmakers, sponsors, media and fans. This cornerstone event for the ski and snowboard industry will include snow films, parties, and the annual D&E Fashion Show.

    October 7th - 12th, 2010

    A remembrance of the life and music of John Denver is celebrated during this week long event in the Rocky Mountain high of ASpen, CO.
